About Jacob Haust

From the earliest moments of my life I was fascinated with Nature, animals & art.
4 years of my life as a kid I grew up in Scandinavia which had a deep impact on my appreciation for Nature, Earth & our connection with it.
It was like living on the surface of the raw, beating heart of our planet.
Seeing the foundation of the very Earth we live upon & how life begins to emerge even in the coldest of climates.
That kind of profound appreciation for Nature is something that stays with you.

Oil painting was something I was initially drawn to when I started exploring art.
Inexplicably obsessed with the styles of Davinci, Leonardo & how engineering & art could be combined.
I was lit up by photography in school. It combined both technical aspects with the foundations of art.
This became a cornerstone that I use today.

I put myself through college for Industrial Design (which is essentially the design/engineering of everything).

I got to a point where I realized I have to make a decision on what I really want to do with my life. So after getting really quite with myself & realizing what it was that I was always good at & enjoyed doing,
I’m now focusing on art, photography & writing as my career. Moving forward with a purpose.

Thinking holistically, I believe that culture has lost its value of (& connection with) Nature. We spend most of our time in homes & cities void of wildlife & forests. Over time, this has changed human behavior, thought & values for the worse. Nature & our environment is the foundation of everything. Without it, things we pursue are meaningless. With science proving that Nature has a beneficial effect in all aspects of being human… our relationship with Nature seems to be an important missing piece.

“It is my life’s mission to reconnect humanity’s relationship with Nature and the Planet.”

Jacob Haust

The best way I can achieve my mission is through art, photography, design & writing.

I sincerely thank each & everyone of you who appreciates my work.
It means a lot.

A Core Belief

There is something that pre-dates modern civilization which connects Nature, The Universe & all living things within it.
I have always felt this but couldn’t describe or put it into words.
It what connects us with each other, as all things are one.
I believe at one point, a long time ago, humanity was in tune with this & we worked in harmony with our Planet.

I believe the closer we get back to our roots as humans, understand our history & where we came from…
that we can discover our place in the Universe.

It is very possible

“the Universe has given us the the most important responsibility to protect life, propagate life & to ensure that the light of consciousness never dies out”

Jacob Haust

as we are the only species capable of this but not without help from Nature.
